4 DIY Fall Body Scrub Recipes
There’s something about the change in the seasons that makes us want to stay curled up indoors all day surrounded by our favorite fall smells – warm pumpkin pie, fresh burning firewood, and spicy chai to name a few. We’ll take a look at some our favorite, most flavorful fall essential oil body scrubs, how to apply them, and the magical effects they’ll no doubt have on your skin and in your home!
1. Snickerdoodle Sugar Scrub
Our first pick is our scrumptious snickerdoodle sugar scrub, which smells as delicious as it sounds! To make this scrub, you’ll need:
- One cup of organic cane sugar
- 1 cup of coconut oil
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 8 drops of cinnamon essential oil
Mix these together in an airtight container and leave the mix sitting for 5-10 minutes. To use this scrumptious scrub, scoop out the mixture with a clean spoon and apply a generous amount of the sugar scrub to your body. Using a loofah, massage the scrub into your skin in a soft and circular motion to remove dead skin cells and exfoliate. Wash the scrub off gently with warm water and pat skin dry with a cloth – finally, enjoy the soothing smell and softness of this snickerdoodle scrub!
2. Chai Lip Scrub
Chapped and cracked lips can really ruin the fun of fall, so we’ve got the perfect lip balm blend to keep your smile fresh and smooth this autumn! For this moisturizing and soothing spiced chai lip treat, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- Two teaspoons beeswax
- 1.5 teaspoons of cocoa butter
- 5 teaspoons of coconut oil
- 4 drops of vitamin E
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 3 drops of cardamom essential oil
- Cinnamon
- Ginger
- Clove
Melt the beeswax, coconut oil, and cocoa butter until they are fully liquid. Next, after mixing, remove the mixture from heat and add the remaining ingredients. Stir the entire concoction and then pour into empty lip balm tubes or pots, letting them cool and harden. Now you?ll feel like you’ve got a spiced chai latte on your lips no matter where you go!
3. Autumn Breeze Bubbling Bath Salts Recipe
We’ve recently reviewed the healing benefits of essential oil bath salts, and what better way to enjoy their relaxing effect than by sharing our autumn breeze bubbling bath salts recipe? A good old-fashioned bubble bath with a warm tea or coffee and this salty scrub will cure any seasonal blues that have got you down. The ingredients required:
- 2 cups Epsom salt
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1 cup citric acid
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons sweet almond oil
Combine all ingredients together and then scoop out an approximately 1 cup of the mixture into a hot running bath. Run your hands through the water to dissolve the salts and let the mixture seep into the water; if you’re using bubble bath mix as well, this will guarantee that the bubbles are larger and fluffier!
